Grambling graduates are loyal to their institution. In 1965, a group of dedicated and enthusiastic members met in the home of Truitt and Eleanor Lowery to organize a Los Angeles Alumni Chapter.

One of the major goals of this chapter is to assist students through financial scholarships in furthering their education at Grambling State University.

Hugh B. Flake was elected President, and accepted this challenge, as well as the succeeding Presidents: Truitt Lowery, Mary L. Gilbert Batiste, Ernest Webb, Medria Jackson Dunn, Dr. Vertie Logan Hobson, Conrad Lewis, Johnny L. Williams, Bettye Smith White, Eleanor Lowery and our current President, Bettye J. Fontenot.
